Cindy Morris was born and raised in South Florida and moved to Brookhaven twelve years ago. Now a proud Long Islander, she lives in Stony Brook with her two wonderful sons, Benjamin and Jackson.
Cindy began her career on Long Island working in tourism. That opportunity provided her with an in-depth knowledge of Brookhaven and all that it has to offer. Seven years ago, Cindy launched her own business as a strategic planner for Long Island's nonprofit organizations. The Benson Agency develops long-range planning and development goals for Long Island-based charities, including the Long Island Philharmonic, the Maritime Explorium of Port Jefferson, and i-tri, a community-based program for girls and young women.
Cindy is active member of her synagogue and she was appointed to serve on the Jewish Advisory Board by Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone.
This is Cindy’s first campaign for political office. After the election of November, 2016, Cindy felt compelled to increase her participation in community affairs. As an activist, progressive leader, and committed community member of Brookhaven, Cindy is helping to lead the growing groundswell of residents committed to making sure that our elected officials are held accountable to all of the people in our community.
As a candidate for Town Clerk, Cindy has the organizational skills necessary to provide honest, efficient and transparent government services. With her passion for good government, Cindy will work hard to make sure that Brookhaven voters get the honest, open government that they deserve.
