Training for Signature Gathering

Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year! From Your Friends at The Brookhaven Democratic Town Committee  The holidays remind us that even during a time of darkness, there is light and hope. This is especially true in the coming New Year. In 2020, we have an unique opportunity to change the world. We can bring back civility, and help restore the Democratic values that we hold so dear. We can literally save the lives of the children Trump has locked in cages. We can do this by electing Democrats to office. One of the major functions of the BTDC is to collect signatures of Democrats in our neighborhoods to get our candidates on the ballot. To do this, we need your help. Collecting signatures is open to all registered Democrats – you don’t have to be a town committee member! If you would like to volunteer, please attend the introductory training meeting.   The program is taught by Democratic leaders with a deep understanding of the rules governing the petitioning process, and decades of experience in how to connect with voters in the most effective manner.  The information is below.  Brookhaven Democratic HQ 757 Horseblock Road, Farmingville, NY 11738(Store front at the rear of K&K Athletic Center parking lot). Saturday, January 4th, 12 noon to 1:15 pm.Doors open at 11:30 am for coffee & donuts.   During the training, we will show you how to gather signatures by using a list (which we provide) of registered Democrats in the area where you live. We will be collecting signatures for the Presidential candidates in January, and volunteers can circulate petitions for the candidate of their choice. In March, we will collect signatures for all the other candidates running this year including congressional and state assembly and senate candidates. During this period, you will also have an opportunity to gather signatures which will allow you to become a member of the Brookhaven Town Democratic Committee. For more information, please visit our Contact Page Form and someone will respond to you promptly!
